This page explains what personal data Cyclogen5D collects through the website, what we do with it, and how to ask us to delete it. Plain language, no surprises.
Two situations, two kinds of data.
If you only visit the website: we don't collect anything that identifies you personally. The site uses no third-party analytics, no advertising trackers, and no marketing cookies. Standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) are kept by Google Firebase Hosting for normal operations and are not used by us to identify visitors.
If you sign in to use an engineering calculator at cyclogen5d.com/engineering/, we collect:
We do not see your password, your Google or Microsoft account contents, your contacts, your other browsing activity, or anything beyond the items listed above.
We do not record the specific inputs or outputs of your calculations. The numbers you type into a calculator are processed by the calculation server and the result is sent back to your browser. Neither the inputs nor the outputs are stored on our side.
So we can identify you as a returning user and so we can follow up if you contact us about a project. Engineers who use the calculators are exactly the kind of people our engineering services are useful to. Sign-in lets us hold a thread of conversation across calculator sessions and a quote request.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for marketing outside of direct one-to-one outreach by our team.
Your account record is stored by Google Firebase Authentication, which holds the data in Google Cloud data centres. Cyclogen5D personnel can see the account list through the Firebase Console. Google's data security and processing practices are documented in the Firebase privacy documentation and the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum.
Your account record remains until you ask us to delete it, or until two years after your last sign-in, whichever comes first. After deletion the record is removed from Firebase Authentication within a reasonable window per Google's deletion timelines.
Email labs@cyclogen5d.com from the address associated with your sign-in. We will confirm receipt and delete the account record within seven business days. You'll lose access to gated calculators until you create a new account.
You have the right under GDPR and UK GDPR to access, correct, restrict, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email labs@cyclogen5d.com. Cyclogen5D is the data controller. We do not use automated decision-making.
This notice is intended to satisfy our obligations under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. Material changes that affect existing users will also trigger a prompt the next time you visit a gated page.
